MCTC juniors Colin Angell & Michael Szabo repeated high school individual state championships in their Division II flights.
Colin Angell won the # 2 singles crown, stopping Ben Orwin, Portage Central, 6-3, 6-4. Michael Szabo at # 3 singles defeated Justin Minzlaff, Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern, 6-4, 6-1.
Szabo went undefeated for the season 37-0. This was his third state title. Dow’s # 1 doubles team of Cole Williamson and Daniel Magno were finalists.
Dow High tied for 3rd place. Forest Hill Central won the team title. Rosters of both high school teams are primarily juniors in our TTP—Tournament Training Program, Steve Host Director.
When your children enroll in our USTA-awarded 10-Under Tennis, their future is bright with the promise for a life-long love affair with the game.
As they progress on their Pathway for Excellence, playing tournaments, playing on school teams, it’s not unreasonable to believe that college tennis scholarships or financial aid for college play is in the cards.
